Jamiat Belief

Belief of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind are based on the Holy Quran and the life and traditions of the prophet of Islam and his companions. Jamiat believes that Islam is in essence a moderate religion which calls for world peace and universal brotherhood. It condemns terrorism and extremism in its all forms. In Islam, Jihad is a pious term. There is world of differences between Jihad and terrorism. Jihad is for protecting human values while terrorism is for destroying the same. In the Indian context, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind believes in composite nationalism. The promotion of religious tolerance constitutes a central tenet of its philosophy. In its view, Muslims and non-Muslims are equal citizens of this country and have entered a mutual contract to establish a secular state. The Constitution of India represents this contract. Hence, it is the duty of every Indian Muslim to express loyalty to the Constitution.
